INDUSTRIAL/PROCESS: Pawnee Generating Station

Last  Next

When Colorado passed the Clean Air-Clean Jobs Act in 2010, Xcel Energy enhanced its efforts to reduce emissions from its coal-fired Pawnee Generating Station in Brush. Air emissions at Pawnee are controlled by a 28-compartent baghouse, installed in 1994, that serves as a giant vacuum cleaner to remove more than 99% of particulates from the flue gas. Legacy has served as a subcontractor of Hartman Walsh Painting to reinforce the strength of the baghouse sidewalls through installation of tube steel and structural angles. This enhancement will allow new, higher-force fans to maximize particulate removal.
