Fort Collins

Legacy Mechanical Inc. provided mechanical services for the addition of 4,000 tons of cooling to Colorado State University’s District Chilled Water Loop. The project consisted of construction to add chilled water capacity including pumps, chemical treatment, cooling towers, piping and tie-in to an existing campus chilled water loop. The 4,005 tons of capacity includes two 1,335 ton centrifugal chillers and one 1,335 ton future chiller. This challenging design build project had a very aggressive project schedule to have the plant operational before the 2008 high demand months. Through a strong coordination effort between Legacy Mechanical and the construction team, the chiller plant was on-line on time.

LMI added 4,000 tons of cooling to CSU’s Chilled Water Loop.

“Along with its world-class College of Veterinary Medicine and Biomedical Sciences, Colorado State University in Fort Collins is now one of the nation’s leading research universities. Legacy Mechanical takes pride in having been chosen for diverse campus expansion projects, including its first zero-waste dining hall and District Cooling Plant chiller system.”
